As a Veneer Board Manufacturer, share with you. Some people do not know the relationship between plywood and plywood. Glulam, also known as laminated timber, is a common timber construction material in daily life.

Glulam is a kind of structural timber made by cementing individual specifications of wood together under certain conditions, such as glulam, curved glulam, glulam beam, Douglas fir glulam, etc. Its characteristics make it often used to meet the needs of beautiful architectural shapes and structures. During the production process of glulam, the ends of the wood chips are interlocked and arranged horizontally in layers. The lamination method can effectively use high-strength but small-sized wood to make large-scale structural parts of various shapes and sizes. Large-span curved beams can be manufactured through processing, which has a wide range of uses and is mostly used in the manufacture of stadiums and large public clubs.

What are the characteristics of plywood?

1. Plywood can save wood because of its higher wood utilization rate.

2. The plywood is laminated with multiple layers, so it is much cheaper than solid wood, but the plywood contains a large amount of glue, and if the edge banding treatment is not strict, it will increase the degree of pollution hazards.

3. Plywood is also called plywood, plywood, nine-plywood, multi-layer solid wood board. Xiaofu would like to remind here: the name of multi-layer solid wood board is actually just the name of the merchant deliberately for the "beauty" in the name, and has nothing to do with the solid wood itself. Therefore, consumers should not think that plywood is a solid wood panel just because it takes a look at it.

4. The number of plywood layers is generally odd. Why is this? Odd-numbered layer principle: Because the structure of plywood is that the fiber directions of adjacent layers of veneer are perpendicular to each other, and must comply with the principle of symmetry, the total number of layers must be odd. In addition, when the even-numbered plywood is bent, the maximum horizontal shear stress acts on the glue layer instead of on the veneer, which easily damages the glue layer and reduces the strength of the plywood.
