LVL Slats
Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is a high-strength engineered wood product used primarily for structural applications. LVL timber is comparable in strength to solid timber, concrete and steel and is manufactured by bonding together rotary peeled or sliced thin wood veneers under heat and pressure. Includes Laminated Sheets (LSL) and Parallel Sheets (PSL). This will distribute any defects evenly across the cross section, making it as uniform as possible.
Laminated support beams are made from multiple layers of veneers that are glued together under heat and pressure to form large panels that are cut into various widths. Phenolic resin provides a waterproof bond. A variety of tree species can be used to produce LVL lumber, such as Douglas fir, larch, pine and spruce, to produce members that exceed conventional lumber lengths.
1. Laminate veneer lumber has the lowest expansion and shrinkage of all common construction woods
2. Extremely high elasticity, reducing material and weight, preventing sinking with LVL slats.
3. According to the application, LVL wood beams can be produced in different shapes. It also has the great advantage of using wood resources efficiently.
4. Innovative high-performance materials for wooden structures. LVL laminated beams is more elastic and dimensionally stable than naturally grown solid wood cross-sections.
5. High-strength cross-sections enable slim, elegant structures - stronger structures with the same cross-section as solid wood.
LVL wood slat is a versatile wood product. When cross-bonded to increase stiffness, lvl laminated wood beams can be used to form load-bearing wall panels and floors.
LVL beams can be used in many structural applications with plywood, wood or oriented strand board (OSB).
The most popular uses include I-joists, roof beams, rim panels, truck floors, road markings, bed slats, trusses, planks and rafters, and custom panels for marine use.
Fushi Wood is one of the leading LVL beam suppliers in north China which has FSC, AS1577 and OSHA certifications with 10 factories and monthly output over 500HC planks around the world. There's domestic and German imported lines for LVL manufacturing which could meet total satisfication for all kinds of request. Providing high quality LVL timber for sale with low cost price!
LVL as a wood composite is very limited in enhancing the strength properties of LVL through densification of the veneer during the pressing process.
LVL building material has better dimensional stability than solid wood, but the product may warp if not properly stored in a warehouse.
Like many other wood products, LVL slat is naturally fire resistant due to charring. In the event of a fire, this char on the outside forms a protective layer while maintaining strength. This significantly slows the burn, allowing time to evacuate the building safely.
Similar to other wood products, LVL slats will not rot or mold when properly designed and installed. Contact with water should be avoided during and after construction. Sealing the ends and edges of the LVL will help ensure protection against moisture penetration. Long-term exposure will require anticorrosion treatment and a protective coating.
LVL is a strong, highly predictable, uniform lumber product whose consistency in quality simplifies construction and reduces waste on the jobsite. Like most wood products, it's great for prefabrication. As an engineered product, LVL beam is less prone to shrinking or warping, and is capable of spanning longer distances and supporting heavier loads than traditional wood.
